Just wanted to start singing & playing.

40 Years

A Couple of years

40 years
  1. 5. How did you learn to play guitar?
5 Lessons and self taught
  1. 6. Have you taken lessons if so do you take lessons now?
Took 5 lessons 40 years ago
  1. 7. Where was your first gig?
Can’t remember
  1. 8. How did you get it?
Just went out and got it.
  1. 9. How scared were you?
Not too much
  1. 10. How do you get gigs?
Just going around and asking.
  1. 11. Do you use an agent, if so how did you get that rolling?
Never.
  1. 12. What do you use for equipment?
Acoustic & Electric guitar, drum machine, Bose Speaker System
  1. 13. Do you use a monitor?
Yes.  Behringer on a stand.
  1. 14. Do you have any tips you can share as far as setting up your equipment for a gig?
Be at least one hour early for each gig, and have backups for cords etc.
  1. 15. How long was you longest gig?
4 hours
  1. 16. How long was your shortest gig?
1 hour
  1. 17. How do you choose what songs to learn?
By requests and what I like to play
  1. 18. How do you learn new songs,
by ear, YouTube, books?    Everything by ear.  Cannot read music
  1. 19. Who are a few of your favorite artist?
Jimmy Buffet, Johnny Cash, Zac Brown, etc

2 – 3 times per week
  1. 21. Do you have any CD’s out?
No.  Only promotional
  1. 22. Do you have any aspirations to take you music further than your current success?
NO.  Ain’t no money in it.
  1. 23. How far will you travel?
Depends on the money
  1. 24. How far have you traveled to do a gig?
120 miles
  1. 25. Can you recall you best show?
They are all good.
  1. 26. How about your worst show?
No bad ones.
  1. 27. Do you have any advice for a person just getting in to gigging that you would like to share?
Go out, be yourself, listen to what the audience wants.
  1. 28. When you practice do you go through a P. A. or just you and your guitar?
I use a bose system for everything.
  1. 29. Anything else that you would like to share?
It’s been a great ride and I hope to keep on doing it.  Keeps me young and I enjoy people.
